Motorized bike.

I was thinking of getting a mountain bike and adding a motor to it and found this website. http://www.chrishill.myknet.org/ and this one http://www.sickbikeparts.com/index.html Just thought others might be interested.

Those motor kits are infamous for being poorly built Chinese trash.

seriously....Don't buy one. I got one second hand a few years back,and had to rebuild it all the time. They look like shit, they sound like shit. You only have one gear.

and the kicker. Even on a mountain bike, if your not a complete sack of shit you could beat one of those things in a race any day. As in pedaling, on a bicycle, like it was made to do.

I think they have those. 

Honda makes a few, suzuki, yamaha, kawasaki, KTM... I think they call 'em.... dirt bikes?

Yes I have seen the Chinese junk. This guy claims he goes through the engines and upgrades bearings, ignition and other parts. Hard to say if it's legit. But it looks like a good idea.

Actually a buddy of mine just got a DUI that's why I was checking this out.

Well, when the government and economy collapses and you are left wandering the wastelands that was once America. Gas will be scarce and you may have to pedal great distances before finding more. But realistically if you are older and want to go riding to get exercise and you get worn out it would be a nice option. Plus if you have friends that get DUI's they might need one because you don't need to license it.

Back in the 70s we (my family and I) were on our way out of town for a camping trip.  All of the sudden my Dad swerved off the side of the road and backed up in front of a yard having a garage sale.  He had seen a "Whizzer" sitting out front amongst all the stuff for sale and recognized its significance right away.  He bought it on the spot for $100 and we took it home.

'Whizzer' was a brand of motorized bicycles made from the late 30s through the mid 60s.  The one my Dad bought was in great condition and we rode it all over the neighborhood.  It was a late 40s model if I remember right.  He had plans to restore it to original mint condition someday.  As far as I know it still sits in the back of his garage.

Odds of government collapsing & me needing a bike with pedals and a motor:  .035%

Odds of me being dumb enough to go out for a bike ride so far that I won't physically be able to ride back home without the aide of a motor: 0%.


Either exercise, or have a recreational vehicle.  Mixing the two is like a chick with a dick.
