Should i buy a car or a bike?

I got some money stashed so im thinking:
A. 30,000 - 50,000 miles second hand 1.4 - 2.0 liter car
o
B. New cool powerful bike
I want both i really do.
In a car its like your house where u can stay while travelling or if its raining, alone or with friends. I can take my dog with me and lots of stuff like baggage and tent etc. Car is easily parked outside and car thief is rare here.
But, second hand car might have problems and might become out of order half way thro a trip! And insurance cost like 1000 over here a year, plus MOT and road tax and shit...
Bike. Is cool and new. Lots of fun things u can do with it. Insurance cheaper. New bike means minium maintenance. same price :|. Can travel ANYWHERE, off and on road - which is what i really like. AND in certain countries which i will be visiting i can take bike with me on a train or a ship!
But, need a side / back tag along cart if i want to travel with a dog, bikes easy to steal. And i havent done any training yet havent got bike lisence uet
What do u think ?

Get the car. You didn't mention what type of bike but when you say powerful I'm assuming you mean a sport bike, but then you talk about going off road and getting a side car so IDK what kind of bike you even mean. But still I think the car is a better choice if it's going to you your only mode of transportation.
Oh yeah and how is it even possible that your insurance on a bike would be cheaper than a used econobox?

You can buy a car for the same price as a bike...??
I recently was faced with this problem...I had saved up about $2500 and wanted to buy a car, but paying $130/month for insurance, and now with gas prices at $4/gallon...I decided I'd buy a road bike to make my commute to work (13 miles).
Bikes are great cause you can just get off them anywhere and lock them up...cars aren't as easy. Cars are way more expensive, more prone to problems, but waaayyy more convenient. If you're looking to stay in great shape, a bike wouldn't be a bad idea. It depends on how much you're actually going to ride it though.
BTW you have to get insurance for bikes? And a license? Are you talking about a Motorcycle or a bicycle?

Don't get a bike. There's a lot more limits with having a bike and there's always the chance of an accident. A bike is good when you already have a car.

I vote for a car just because in times of bad weather or lack of shelter you can always crash in your car if need be. A motorcycle would be better value for the transportation, less gas money, less insurance. But I still think having a roof over your head and all the pro's of a car outweigh a bike.

He's taking about a motor-bike.
I'd definitely get the car, by the way.

Depends where you live.... If you live somewhere with sunny, warm weather, all year long, get the bike!
But if you have changes of seasons, a winter, fall, rainy seasons, etc, the car is the better choice.

My response was Car because of your dog. If you were traveling solo, I'd definitely say Bike.

I also vote car. Get the bike after already you already have a car. Although bikes are awesome and more economical.. more options with a car.

Ok sorry I didn't know you could take MOTORCYCLES ON TRAINS! That doesn't happen here. Shit, trains are pretty uncommon in the states compared to other forms of transportation
