Converge, Strapping Young Lad, Carcass, Dimmu Borgir (Black/Death Metal)... on and on. There are so many I will list only those, perhaps more later.

yeah, id call it melodic death metal. although i had never heard of them just checked it out and its some pretty good stuff. ahh and the born of osiris cd and the winds of plague cd are both amazing if you listen to them in a car with a nice system with some subs, hard to find stuff that sounds good in my car with the subs up. alot of it the double bass just gets too damn fast and drounds shit out but those two albums are amazing in it. like if i put on some nile or vital remains i just have to turn the subs way down or it gets like a god damn helicopter lol. if you want some more stuff like that try amon amarth, kinda melodic viking metal.

Amon Amarth rule. Saw them live with Children of Bodom awhile back.

Darkest Hour is a sweet band.

well, i see, all of you guys define some grindcore as deathmetal, and NO grindcore isnt faster deathmetal.... grindcore is the european bastard of deathmetal, it has several points of view which are not to confound

aaaaaaaaaarh.... anybody who defines carcass as deathmetal should be shot!

asaaaaah ouch, uagh...

i spent my half life into collecting grindcore, ive got now more than 3500 vinyls and about 85 gigabyte... only grindcore

but its one thing i cant stand to think in categories like "this isnt x, this is y".... at last its all about if you like it or not... but though.... dont miss the grindcore in your life

i love amon amarth. pursuit of viking i such a good song! anyways i don't mind you saying that cause i love melodic death metal i love children of bodom, norther, kalmah, disarmoni mundi... And of course I love inflames. and i am sure a bunch of people will make fun of me for saying this but i love TRIVIUM. and i know trivium is not melodic death metal....
