I think my friend stole from my family!
    #9726916 -

OMFG. So my cousin is in town, and leaves a jar of weed at my house while we go out to the strip club. My cuz and his friend offer to take my buddy out and pay for his shit for the night since he is broke. Well he's not 21 so he can't anyways, he just chills at my house instead.

So me, my cuz and his friend get back, my buddy is gone and so is the weed.

The shit was stashed under a pile of clothes, and was put there out of sight of anyone. But when we get back and my cuz starts looking for his weed he can't find it. I figured he must've misplaced it. "My boy wouldn't do that man, I swear" I tell him. I made all kinds of excuses. They leave saying that they want to pay this kid a visit before they go (and that they won't leave town until this is resolved). My friend isn't picking up his phone.

After they leave I'm freaking out. "This must be some kind of mistake" I tell myself. Well after five minutes of digging around the area that is was stashed I find the jar in the back of the closet, and it's fucking empty!

I feel fucking betrayed. I trusted this kid with my house key. I considered him a good friend. And now I'm going to have to confront him about this shit.

Problem is, I know that he's going to lie about it. He's not going to admit to that shit. But my cousin said he isn't going to leave town until he gets his fucking weed back or some money back. I don't want my friend to get his ass beat, but if he took that shit it's probably all smoked by now, and he is poor as fuck. He's not going to be able to pay back what this weed is worth, not ever.

I mean, he didn't even have the sense to fucking just pinch it. He took ALL the weed! WTF?

I don't really know what to do. I can't just let this shit slide, but I don't want some stupid violence over some herb, ya know...

Then again, I can't let myself be taken advantage of.

its not about the herb

its about the bond between family vs friends

who are you more loyal to? who is more loyal to you?

your boy or your cousins?

Calix is probably right.  And for the sake of peace, and since you trusted your friend, I suggest that you repay your cousin, and never talk with your "friend" again.

My cousin made it clear that "you're not going to fix this.. HE is". Besides, I don't have $100 to pay for weed that I didn't smoke. Sorry.

I definitely have more loyalty to my cousin... idk. I've just always avoided confrontation whenever possible. Now it seems so inevitable.

This is so fucked.

I'm way too trustworthy.

Family Vs. Friend??? What if it were the other way around and his cousin had taken the bud?

I would put pressure on the thief about making things right and then I would be suspicious of them still.  Make him earn your trust back and if he won't make it right, then I would be done with hanging out with them.

well it would be pointless to start shit over it if him and his boy were really close and the cousins didnt really come around much IMO

so your gonna let this dude walk over you...and just be a pushover, caus you dont like confrontation...

grow a pair and handle it.

Call him be like "Dude, they  know you did it. There's no possibility whatsoever that it was anyone else. Pay up"

If he doesn't, then he's not your real friend. :p

Word, this is the approach. You're going to want to throw in something like, "I can't keep my cousins from beating the shit out of you unless you're atleast straight with me. Why would I want to protect a double-crossing no good lying shit head who won't even be straight with his friend?"

If getting high off weed stolen from a friend's family is more important to him than your friendship then it wasn't a real friendship in the first place and he isn't worth worrying over, really. Just think of the position he's put you in. Think he ever cared or thought about that?
All I can say is I hope the little sucker gets a good whooping.

Once a thief, always a thief.
Maybe not always true, but the trust is still severed and that's something that is incredibly hard to restore.
But don't let this fool take advantage of you. If you let it slide with no confrontations, it's no doubt the fool will not learn.
At least help him out, beat his ass and hope he learns like a  fucking dog.

Exactly. If it was crack or heroin, I'd blame an addiction. But how can you not keep yourself from stealing WEED from a friend? Why ALL OF IT? I suppose he stole it to sell most of it. That's seriously fucked up.

I wouldn't care if it was a jar of buttons...you DO NOT steal from a friend's family.

That is exactly it; the material value is minimal and meaningless; trust is broken and your privacy is invaded. It takes a lot of time to re-build that.

I wonder if buddy feels guilty about or regrets taking it though?

This is no gang warfare. It's not about loyalty. The friend is guilty, the cousin is innocent.
Besides, the so-called friend betrayed you, so he's not really a friend.
Screw that guy, make him pay. Don't do anything too serious, so you can work out some sort of new... "friendship" later.

By the way, do you know him very, very well?

Is he really broke? Could he have debts of any kind? Is he into any other drugs? Does he mess with shady people?

you gotta do this. be alone with him IN PERSON. thats extremely important. stress the fact that no one else could have taken it and that it had to have been him. tell him theres no way he can talk his way out of it or deny it. that will only make things worse.

good luck and let us know how it goes.... im extremely curious as to how this will turn out.
