Moose poo
    #970806 -

Hello everyone...
I have a REALLY strange question that I hope someone may have the answer too.  I have heard good things about horse poo (less digested straw in it, ect.) but I was wondering...does anyone know if Moose poo is good to use??  There is a large dumping ground from the local wildlife at the back of my property and my Iguana was rolling it about his mind whether it would be of good use or not??
Peace & Happiness to each and all!!!
Love, Cheeba

AS long as the moose is primarily eating grain, his poo is good for use! I've seen buffalo, elk, giraffe, elephant poo used with much success.

Moose poo? thats so frickin cool. Damn, if you got moose near your property, I'd guess you are in a pretty beautiful environment, scenery wise. Must be nice. But to answer your question ^^^^ is right, as long as the moose isn't into eating steak it should be cool. Right on.

Moose poo in the spring & early summer should / would / could work great. I say that because, that is when they have good forage, fresh greens, grass & sprouts.

Late fall & winter, then critters will eat fir, pine needles, bark or whatever the hell they can get. Those things don't have the stuff, for a good substrate, even after being digested.

Buffalo poo works great, too.......................

LOL funny how you guys love animal poo, despite its uses for colonizing bulk substrates, there are many other ways that exclude the use of gross poo

6T , gave you the best info available , and it makes lots of sense , Moose eat bark, pine cones when times are tough , now deer poop , especially doe poop would be good .
Good Luck , be a pioneer and keep us posted on results .

my dad has a field full of buffalo and I'm movin out there next year, is the poo real good? should be all year round to cause there getting fed bails all winter and they'll forage even in thick snow (not that they'ed find to much to eat).

and right by our farm is like a gazzilion cow farms, couple elk, more buffalo's not to mention the wild deer and moose that pester local farmers.

and If the poo isn't the shit then theres always that grainery full of chopped grain.

but I gotta wait tell next year, FUCK!

Would you handle hay? Becasue that's essentially all it is. When it's dry it doesn't stink and it's not nasty. But you won't even spell sex,so who the fuck knows what's going on in your head. Please stop posting useless things like "don't use poo,poo is nasty!!" I mean it's shit,I think everyone knows what they are dealing with.

I saw these mushrooms growing on moose poo in the forest here in Norway this evening. Can anyone tell if they are of the magical kind?
