Secure PMs & ssl

As I'm not a supporter I can't view the shroomery via ssl. However whenever I use secure PMs it automatically uses ssl, which means every 20 seconds or so I get a login box popup and ask me to login. Also the links along the top (like the threads one) appear as https://blah meaning I can't use it.

It still works, its just annoying.

I believe you, but I'll need a little more information on when exactly it happens and how to reproduce it. I had thought secure PMs were all working without authentication, and I wasn't able to recreate the problem after messing around briefly. Could you please explain specifically how to observe this behavior?

Ive also been experiencing this problem. After I send a secure pm it gives me a prompt to log in and I have to close the browser and reopen to view the forums.

I still can't seem to duplicate it. I tried sending a new encrypted PM with and without previewing it, and then repeated the test sending an encrypted reply. A screenshot would help. :smile:

Right it only happens when I'm replying to a secure PM (but the links along the top under my username are still https when viewing a pm).

Okay I fixed the links along the top. I still can't reproduce the prompt when replying to a PM, however. Does it happen under Windows do you know?

Yes, I've had this happen to me on Windows XP, ie7.  :doh:

Edit:  Just tried replying to the most recent Secure PM in my inbox.  Indeed within the first ~30 seconds or so the secure login prompt came up.  No idea why... and if I don't login (just close the prompt), it will continue to pop up a fresh prompt after that same ~30 second delay.

Also, you missed the https to http conversion on the banner link, the "main site" link, as well as the Logout link (on the Rainy Day template at least).

Ahhh, okay. Thanks I didn't understand that it only happens if you wait a while. Anyway it should be fixed. I also fixed all the links you mentioned (damn non-standard template users) except for logout.php which intentionally defaults to SSL.
