this is tell tell sign numero uno pal (and kinda a granda one to boot)
people who 'get' schizophrenia are people who are otherwise very very 'normal' growing up...because this is one of those 'things' that do, in fact, only come into the picture later on in life (kinda how like alzheimers doesn't kick in until way later on in life)
for men it's generally late teens / early twenties
and I know for me - it was indeed late teens when the symptoms first began to appear, and they did in fact become more and more prevalent as time went on (I'm in my mid-twenties right now, and the doctors are just now starting to consider that this may in fact be a very real probability for me)
and I suspect that it very well *could* become a problem if it does indeed continue to get worse (as is generally the case) which is why I'm really going out of my way to make it very very clear to these people exactly what it is that I am most definitely going through, so I can in fact get whatever help I'm going to need when it does get worse (which, I hate to say, is seeming more and more certain as the years go on)
the last thing I want is to end up as one of those nut-jobs on the streets that talk to garbage cans an shit, and are constantly being shoo-ed off by the police because they are such an eyesore for the rest of the population
if I'm not going to be able to maintain a steady job ten years from now because my mind is just too far gone at that point - then I can at least hope to be living in some subsidized housing somewhere, having someone in a mental institution stopping by to check up on my from time to time...cause even that is still better then having to put myself back in jail every week-end for petty crimes just so I can get a little food in my system and get myself cleaned up (cause, sadly, I've actually know a few people like that, and I'm praying to god I never turn into that person)
it's better to get the help that you might not need after all, then take the risk of going without if ever you do
