Those of you who claim that a lot of our new technology was given to us by aliens really discredit the smart and driven people who actually did invent it, and humanity as a whole.

It's like claiming that the pyramids were built by aliens because "there's no way a primitive race like the Egyptians or Mayans could have done something like that."  It's just uneducated and disrespectful of human accomplishment.

Personally, I don't think there is that great of a chance that beings from another planet are visiting our planet.  The laws of physics kind of prevent any type of instantaneous interstellar travel, making it almost impossible to get from one star system to another in one generation.
