Experimental / IDM Album thread

#9528104 - 01/01/09 05:58 PM (17 years, 9 months ago)

Post your experimental and IDM here please!

I'll start things off with:

Mum - Summer Make Good

Venetian Snares - Winter In The Belly Of A Snake

Two of my favourite experimental albums here.

Recue - All The Wrong Places

Tipper - The Seamless Unspeakable Something

The first album is some tasty chill as idm and the second album is breaks and the artist is the best sound designer around at the moment IMO as far as accuracy goes, makes for an excellent listen tripping.

I dig all those albums, I especially like the n5md label. Instead of trying to upload a bunch of music on this crappy internet connection, I'll let ya in on this gold mine of idm I know of if you haven't been there yet:

http://idmtrade.blogspot.com/

As far as artist recommendations, here are some seriously good ones:

Rumpistol
Nikakoi
Metaform - [album] Standing on the Shoulders of Giants
Davwuh
and this may not be idm, but FLYING LOTUS is the shit!

Peace

The automation and the mixing on tipper's stuff is incredible.

Richard Devine - Cautella

Wicked experimental stuff, this guy has incredible sound design. A little lacking in the melodic department but then, it isn't really that sort of music.

That torrent is locked and only has one seeder but if the myspace is anything to go by it sounds like it's probably worth buying anyway.

Is that an i like this album or not? If you like it i'll probably upload acsect;dsect up on there aswell. Full of crazy as hell machine noises, really weird shit. In retrospect i probably should of attached a bit of a warning to that album to check the last fm first, it ain't everyone's cup o tea rly.

Woops, sorry about the torrent link.

The sub-ID album is very good. Very original sound. Definitely worth buying.

Thank you for all the music. You've been uploading some great stuff!
