Don't take this too seriously, but have the Jews always been like this? It would explain a lot of bad feeling and resentment down the centuries. Obviously I don't mean Jews as individuals, but as an organised people are they prone to over-dramatic and idiotic gestures of "self-defense" ie agression?

honestly i can see the idea here. i know it is causing unnacceptable casualties... but then so did the iraq invasion (etc) and the reason there was oil, not the more justifiable 'please for fucks sake stop with the rocket attacks and suicide bombs'. just how i see it.

excuse the facile analogy but its like squeezing a spot - if you just do the surface its going to resurface and soon. if you go deeper it will prove a longer lasting solution - attack and destroy the infastructure of the... spot. though im not saying that you wont wipe some puss somewhere else in your t-zone ...lol, and get a new spot from it next week (a few years) it is this rather than applying spot lotion (appeasement didn't work for chamberlain over hitler did it?) which the israeli (state) seems to have cracked and gone for.

i am not a lover of the israeli state just as impartial an observer as the next person and i feel despite the ugliness of the (any...) violence it is the sad yet logical correct action

it does not feel good to brush away the premise of the reported casualties of innocents but i can't help but call the rationality of the action.

Zionist Jews are the worst.

The hacidic and ultra orthodox jews can be super annoying too.  I used to work as a bellhop at a fairly large hotel that would be completely taken over every passover by ultra orthodox jews.  That sucked bad.

Your standArd reformed and conservative jews are only mildly  annoying.

When I was delivering pizzas the jews never tipped me. One of my best friends is a jew and it bothers me how stereotypical he is sometimes. He goes to costco to get the free samples.

Any culture that has a past of being persecuted will pass down traits of paranoia and resentment through the generations.  It is a really unfortunate phenomenon but it happens all over the place.  North American blacks and natives have these rough histories too because they are descended from marginalized and enslaved people.  Violence among these populations is higher because cultural resentment is a part of their upbringing, as it was for their parents, and their parents...

I don't think i would call Jews a historically violent people. I'm sure they have committed violent acts, everyone has, but i would say they have committed a lot less than most. They have been the victims of violence and persecution many times in the history of the world. But the Jews themselves have actually been very peaceful.

This latest war i think is a case of becoming what you hate. After the Holocaust they became so fearful, angry and hateful that they were able to justify invading another country.
