Your Coco Choir?

Everyone who posts pics of their coco choir caseings has a nice even flat caseing, I have only found coco choir in a matted form which is made up of long strands of the fiber and my caseings look like the jungle floor...

Do you all actualy cut up your fiber to fine pices or does it come like that when you buy it?

You`re tellng me that you use coir fibre??
They use that stuff to line hanging baskets.
That`s not the right stuff.

You need to go and find coc coir bricks, they are compacted bricks.
You chip pieces off and rehydrate them in warm water.
It changes size drastically and becomes very soft and kind of like soil I guess.
So when it`s dry it`s very fine and soft, that`s why it`s easy to spread out in an even layer.

:wink: Coir fiber is what coir is made of. The coir I get is pretty fine, but does have  long fibers in it. Coir is simply coconut husk fiber, plus any other fiber off a coconut tree. Mine comes out of Sri Lanka & I get it in compressed bales about the size of a case of beer. Man, that shit expands, when hydrated.

I get 2 variances, coir from coconut husks and coir from Palm leaves.
Both are similar and both work bloody great.
