Ant Powder & Diatomaceous Earth

So, ant powder is pretty much diatomaceous earth.

Has anyone used this in place of 'food grade' diatomaceous earth? I have a harder time in my area finding the diatomaceous earth over finding ant powder. I don't think there's any specific chemicals aside from that they mention it has "attractants" in it...I'd sooner not have nasty chemicals in my tasty mushrooms but...
