Should I dunk BRF cakes before spawning them?

The reason I ask is cause the 26 cakes have been totally colonized in their jars now for a little over 3 weeks.  I had to leave town right before they finished colonizing but now they have just been their sitting.  I am going to spawn them to horse poo in monotubs.

So should I dunk them before spawing to poo after sitting for about 3 weeks totally colonized?

No need to dunk if you're going to use them as spawn. Some say they actually colonize the bulk faster without dunking.

Agreed.  That would bring alot more moisture into your substrate - and if your bulk is already properly hydrated you'll be good.

to avoid confusion...if you are considering BIRTHING the cakes as cakes, dunk those babies.  if you are going to shred, chop, crumble them as SPAWN to a bulk substrate, do not dunk them.

Terminology is everything in this field of study.

No need to dunk, your poo will be hydrated enough to support colinisation and first flush.

Be sure to pasturise correctly. Once your spawn is mixed ensure only gas exchange is allowed during colinisation.
