volitile vapor in terrarium.
    #945782 - 10/09/02 01:18 PM (21 years, 6 months ago)

Hi, I made a terrarium out of one of those plastic storage boxes. It is a solid color, so I cut the big section out of the top and used silicone type stuff to seal a clear plastic piece on. So anyway, the silicone stuff is creating a vapor to exist inside the terrarium. I read on the tube and it's tolulene and petroleum distillate. So, will this chemical smell harm my cake? It has just about finished colonizing and I wanna move it in there as soon as i know it's safe. In fact, the uncolonized portion is about the size of half a dime. I figure it will finish in mere hours. and BTW can't I just birth it now and let that teensy part just go ahead and finish in the terrarium? Sorry for the noob questions, but if it's any consolation I answer noobs questions all the time on a pot growing site.  Help please, and thank you all much!!!

Any uncolonized part is an open invitation for contaminats.

I?d wait a few aditional days even after the cake is visibly fully colonized, then birth it.

Patience is the key....

THose vapors should go away once the silicone is dry. Plus I've found that stuff doesn't stick to my rubbermaid containers too well for long.
