DJ Shadow - Private Press

I recently tripped to DJ Shadow's album Private Press. Holy shit was it amazing...it was very intense, especially the song Blood on the Motorway. It was my first time hearing the album so i had no idea what to expect and it blew my mind. Anyone know of any other good DJ Shadow albums...or maybe some similar artists. The closest thing to Shadow that I listen to is RJD2 and Prefuse 73. Would be awesome to find some more good DJs for my collection.

if you don't have it get Endtroducing. it is DJ Shadow's best work IMO.

Woot! DJ Shadow is the bomb diggity! First class fo sho! :thumbup: But Prefuse 73 is in a badass class of his own. I freakin love One Word Extinguisher. :smile:

In Tune & On Time (recent DVD)
Pre-Emptive Strike (maybe a UK only release?)
Product Placement (with Cut Chemist)

Just picked up preemptive strike...i'm liking it so far.

One Word Extinguisher is the amazing, it definetly in good rotation in my cd player.

i had a mushroom party & we all tripped to
"in tune & on time"
it was amazing.
ive heard this album 100x before sober,
but when i tripped to it, it was like hearing it all over for the 1st time.

get this album, you wont regret it.

endtroducing was shadow's only truly great album IMO

his others are good, but endtroducing is the only one I would call great
I'm probaly a litle biased though, since I was listening to this album before my first mushroom trip and had midnight in a perfect world bouncing around my skull as I watched the sun set over the washington coast in a sky full of glowing faces :smile:

Endtroducing is definitely his best work but i like preemptive strike almost just as much but for completely different reasons...

Live in Tune and on Time is pretty amazing too, if you get it make sure you get the dvd and the cd cause watching his concert shroomin is definitely an unbelievable experience!!!

Dj shadow + lots of shrooms/acid = a religious experience of no other kind

endtroducing is win.

i was also listening to 'midnight in a perfect world' on my first mushroom trip, lying in the backseat of a car driving down a street at night, staring up at the gold streetlights flying by.

something about that album is just really cool.  like beyond hip-hop and beyond "artsy" dj stuff.  just really cool.

the rest of shadow's stuff to me seems to old-school hip-hoppy, or to much of an artistic expression type deal, if that makes any sense. 

Endtroducing was some special thing made while the stars were aligned I think.
