fine grade vermiculite

can fine grade vermiculite be used with BRF in PF tek? if it is too fine, could a little coarse perlite be added for aeration? or would that have an adverse effect on the substrate?

I use fine grade verm with great results. I wouldn't worry about adding perlite.

I also use fine grade because thats all i could find, and it worked great... dont even worry about the peralite... like the man above me says

the fine grade is all there is here also and the mycellum cant penetrate some areas so its uncolonized spots within the mycellum :frown:

all ive seen is very very fine stuff, like sand. no problems...
