vermiculite or perlite

Is there a diference between vermiculite and perlite? They both lok the same to me and i already have a big bag of perlite.

Yes, perlite is non-absorbent.

So, mabe i am just slow-headed or something but i need someone to spell it out for me. Can I use perlite instead of vermiculite for my casing mixture?

Use verm, it soaks up water. The two are not interchangable.

perlite = white little balls
vermiculite = brown little chunks

perlite is for humidity, vermiculite is for in the casing micture
