I'm a free-lance tradesmen. The only way I can make money is by networking through people. People is really the only factor that it takes to start making some good money. Without other people you have nothing. Hence your situation.

The best way to find work is to put yourself out there. This can be some scary business because you run a risk of failing hardcore, but those are the mistakes that make most great people end up where they are today.

Too many people nowadays say,"Fuck that!", without even considering the consequences that follow in the real world. So just don't be that guy if you ever want to make any sort of 'successful' contribution to yourself and maybe even society.

Problem is, to get a job you need a car. To get a car you need money. To get money you need a job. Fuck. (yes, a car is NEEDED in my case, because I live in the middle of fucking nowhere and get like 4 feet of snow every winter. Can't bike through that.)

Maybe when summer comes around you should direct most of your energy towards buying a car instead of enjoying your summer so much. Then you won't find yourself in such a shitty predicament next winter. And the summer that follows will most likely be the best you've ever had. :yesnod:

Friend of mines brother had that same deal. He worked for the CIA doing things like flying out to California to investigate large bank transfers...So, he didn't really do the shit you think of when you think of the CIA, but anyway they doubled his pay for him to leave his main job, and work for them full time. Then they paid him to go back to get his masters. Pretty cool deal, but he ended up going back to work at the bank.

I'm a college student studying psychology and philosophy (pre-law, essentially). I work in retail part-time. After I finish my undergrad I'm going to law school.

I'm fucking excited about my future. :vaped:

I live at my parents ! I do wash some dishes for some side money but that's not really noteable. Reason i'm asking this is that I fail to see the purpose of school but it is a neccesity to get "a good paying job" later. Money isn't really that of an important factor to me. Well, it is but I don't need a lot of things. Thus I want to know what you do for a living and what is your opinion about it, are you happy with it? I'm just sitting out my time and i'll just see where i'll end up later.

your view on this will most certainly change when you stop living with your parents and have to support yourself...its a much easier task with a better paying job.  Im not saying being rich or anything, but having enough to get comfortably by is much nicer than working for minimum wage, and having to budget every cent out and having $5 to spend on what you want each month.

I recently graduated from a univeristy and am working as a software engineer for a large company.  While it isn't the greatest job, they pay is damn good, the company is very stable, give me and my family great benefits like health insurance (guess you don't have to worry about that, but with america's medical system, its a must), great retirement plan (if you rely on american social security for your retirement these days, your just a flat out idiot), continued eduction benefits, lots of paid time off.

During college i worked at officemax as a technical sales professional, and sold businesses computer systems, and ran my own computer consulting business on the side, great racket, since i would get commission for the sales at officemax, then also go out on the side on my own, and set up these 8 computers on a secured network with one color and one black and white laser printer all networked, then install and setup their time system...made more on the side than i did working for officemax...but i also had to work for 30hrs a week at officemax + another 20hrs a week on the side to be able to support my family...my wife worked too, but making ends meet is tough.

I did go to school on loans, and have about30,000 to pay back, which I am already working on...sucks, but its the nature of the beast, i wouldn't be making what I am and having the kushy job I have now if it wasn't for school.  I do enjoy it usually, but sometimes it gets mundane and is boring, but it could be worse, i coudl still be working in the oilfield or at officemax...

peace

Yeah, thats the real plan. Last summer I graduated from high school and just wanted to enjoy my one last summer of fun ya know? That, and, I've spent every single Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday with my girlfriend for 4 years almost. Its gonna be hard to take responsibility and get a job, but I'm sure I'll do it.

Oh, then you're totally straight. No worries yet. You can't even drink so no need to freak unless you're in the same position when you turn 21. Then you might wanna start freaking out.

My boss thought it would be fun to start stealing money from the register on days I worked so he'd have someone to blame when the owners started noticing and lucky him, his plan worked! Fucking twat. If I ever see him again I'll spit in his face.

Its dam hard living without money -
Water
Food
Washed clothes
Washed body
Heat
Shelter

You can find some of them without money but its gets 100x more difficult.

If your parents are happy to give you money / let you live with them then theres no problem.  Money isn't everything and having a job is not either.  Happyness, contentness and love are better areas to work on than money and job.

Yeah but money and a job promote a steady satisfaction in those areas of life.
