bad walnuts for cookies? They taste fine.
    #9355714 -

Ok ate a hand full of some delicious chopped walnuts that were purchased a few months ago.  The bag was opened once and then tightly rolled up like a burrito and then set on the shelf.  I would like to cook some cookies but my girlfriend questions if they are still good to eat or not.  I ate some and their great but she isn't convinced.  Even though the package says "Best used by Aug 09".

What do you all think?  I mean my peanut butter last forever.......

then why does it say "Best used by Aug 09" not "Use by Aug 09" which is still a long time from now.

Its like the a bottle of A1, which says 'best if refrigerated after opening'.  It might be better but it won't kill you or make you sick, otherwise they would just say refrigerate after opening.
