Dammit! I put my desmopressin spray in my parent's refrigerator last week and went to get it out and it wasn't there. Me: "Mom, did you notice a little bottle of nasal spray in the refrig.?" Mom: "I'm not sure" Me: "It was a real small bottle in the top of the fridge" Mom: "oh yeah, I threw it away, it was almost empty, I thought it was for the sheep" Me: dammit! That was my motivational spray, I paid $25 bucks for it! Mom: "It was almost empty" Me: I know, it only came with 2.5 mL! Damn you! Why would the sheep need nasal spray?????!!!!!!AAAAAHHHHHH Maybe you need to take some of my smart pills or something" bad mom! At least she didn't think it was normal decongestant spray and take some and then drink a bunch of water...Maybe I will order some more when I order my piracetam and hydergine again...

Since I'm sure nobody here has any idea what you're talking about (like me), here's what I found.
Desmopressin (des-moe-PRES-in) is a hormone taken through the nose, by mouth, or given by injection to prevent or control the frequent urination, increased thirst, and loss of water associated with diabetes insipidus (water diabetes). It is used also to control bed-wetting and frequent urination and increased thirst associated with certain types of brain injuries or brain surgery. Desmopressin works by acting on the kidneys to reduce the flow of urine.

yessssssss? ~ oh, ADH... durk & sandy say it's a primo pick-me-up... appears to be released in noticable quantities when certain "stimulants" are consumed, and may be related to a sense of "well-being" from stims (including, but not limited to: coke, amphs, lsd, ritalin, doet... well, ok...) and is destroyed or at least plasma concentrations decreased by consumption of alcohol, tobacco, cannabis... well, ok... a few sniffs of vasopressin can lift "mental fog" from your brain after smoking too dam' much ganja... and some anecdotal reports mention positive effects as regards tinnitis, sexual exhaustion, and even noticable cognitive improvement from brain trauma and stroke, etc... and of course, the little white lab mice do better in their little mazes & memory tests... see: pearson & shaw: life extension john a mann: the secrets of life extension and maybe some links from CERI or even the erowid nootropics vaults... oh, and the megahealth society, or the life extension foundation, the mind food or smart drugs books... plenty hard copy & online info out there... seek and ye shall find... ~ oh, & if somebody wants to send me a sixpack of ADH nose-spritzer bottles, well, feel free... (or if i could afford a couple/few hundred $$$ per month for "optional" stuff/disposable income, HAH!) ~ "take it easy, but take it!" (attributed to pete seeger...)

I love you too CleverName! Yes desmopressin is comparable to vasopressin, except it's half life is about twice as long. It really comes in handy when I need to get something done and don't feel motivated to do it. It gets me going without any negative stimulant type effects. Alot of the research says that it causes immediate clearheadedness, but my personal research has shown effects start going at about 20 minutes after inhalation and last about three hours. It stops me from peeing for about three hours as well, so I limit my fluid intake. It is a good tool but hard on the pocketbook (about $1 a spray). I havent tried it after the entheogens yet because it's been a while. Maybe I should make an appt with my doctor and tell him I whiz more than 8 times per day but that's not really being honest (but $5 a big bottle instead of $75 is a good deal). Maybe santa will come down the chimney this year and fill my stocking with nootropics instead of coal (wait..I don't have a chimney, I guess I'll just leave my window open...brrrrr)
Oh yeah also Dean and Morgenthaler have some good info on top of gnrmi's sources and It's kind of surprising that my fellow shroomerites wouldn't know much about smart drugs, I consider the entheogens to be smart drugs as well being I have never seen anyone's intelligence decrease with responsible use of the sacraments, only increases, and positive changes in one's lifestyle, (well to be honest I had one friend who all of the sudden started worshipping crystals, but he was headed down a bad path and now he has his life back together, and I suspect he may have some mental illness as well) but of course there is no way to prove this theory, considering many other variables. People have said to me entheogens make people stupid, etc. but when I asked them if those people abused any drugs like alchohol or stimulants the answer has always been yes. I am in no way encouraging anyone to employ the entheogens, but I believe each one of us should have the right to do so responsibly. <3
