Mine was faster than yours about 4 years ago when they still used DOCSIS not DOCSIS 2...I had my Comcast uncapped.

Could send at speeds of 1mb + per sec, and download at 5mb+ per sec while nobody was on...That was quit shortly after, but it was fun.

Nice. They have been saying they are going to increase the speed for this node. When everyone gets on it slows down, but is still very fast for what I pay. I may get a faster connection when I get a better job, and get done with school. But for now this is plenty.

There is something like a fiber optic OC-45 or something to act as a backbone. That is then split off to another fiber line(I believe they use fiber at this point..pretty sure they do), and that is the network node.

Consider your network printer, or each computer on your home network as a node.

They do this to limit each person...If they just ran fiber to each house off of the backbone it would fuck shit up. People that should be limited wouldn't be, and would consume all of the bandwidth...So, when you try to visit the shroomery it takes you 12 hours.

starting at 6:00pm (in about a half hour) NGC is going to be running 2 other cool episodes of explorer, before they run "marijuana nation". the first is on opium/heoin, the second is on methamphetamine. both are great episodes.

i think i'm gonna roll a phatty of silver pearl and watch all three. enjoy.
