Paper Tape Sticks To My Gloves. Do I Need Scissors?

Hey fellas, I had trouble handling the paper tape in the dispenser. It kept sticking to the latex gloves. Is it best to use scissors to cut the tape? Should the scissors be sterilized?

What are you using the tape for. Sounds like you are using it to tape up your inoculation holes after inoculating, which you dont need to do.

You can leave your inoc holes exposed to provide gas exchange. If your doing the pf tek, your dry verm layer is your contamination barrier.

some things you just have to deal with the best way you can. sticky tape will always stick to latex. :shrug:

I'm taping over the inoculation holes in my liquid culture jars. So, is that a good idea? I also put coffee filter covers on top of that. I want to be as safe as I can. :stoned:

you can use band aids those come sterile besides that if you touch the scissors with your gloves on well then your gloves arent really sterile if the scissors werent sterile.  Chances that you will get contam cuz of your scissors extremely minimal but to take the extra caution just wipe it down with some alcohol.

oh and i wipe down everything I touch even the outside of the band-aid box as a precaution.
