I figure its the same as drug dealing, its a lucrative business; albeit filled with its own risks and ethical dilemmas. However if they weren't doing it, someone else would be, because there is money to be made in whatever business or industry exists.

Part of the problem lies in what most corporations and drug dealers have no problems avoiding. Public Image. Presidents and politicians have a certain reserve of trust and support with the people as a whole which they have to carefully tap on when the time is right.

Most companies hold a similar  "trust reserve", but its got more to do with the share holders financial interests.

I would rather live in a democratic, socialist country with high taxes and a government that works well, not like the USSR, more like Denmark or Norway before the christians took over. Democracy sucks too, because people like ados, who love autocracy, vote.

fuck thos evil companies who ruin everythhing and allow millions of people to efficiently live their lives!  who cares if they, too, started off as small businesses and had such great business strategies that they grew, and profited, and grew more?!  who cares if they actually bring competition to the market?!  who cares if people have the right to not pay high premiums incurred exactly the same or very similar products because the corporation has earned the ability to buy larger quantities of items because of their awesome initial business strategies?!  who cares if they provide us with all forms of energy at costs we can actually make use of them?!  who cares if the majority of the people in this country would die without their products and services?!

buddy, take a simple business class or two and you'll learn why corporations aren't as bad as people make them out to be.


also, by definition (and legal registration) a good portion of mom and pop type stores are corporations.  and there are all sorts of corporations under that broad term


stop watching zeitgeist and listening to your stoner friends regurgitating something they heard somebody regurgitate from somebody else they heard say, do some research, and come up with your own ideas/conclusions about the topic

Well, Chevron is so large it tried to fuck over Ecuador after destroying water and jungle, though that backfired and now Ecuador is standing up for itself. If I, a person, went and spilled oil all over the Amazon and tried to not take respinsibility, I'd probably be in jain for life.

Usually the country that the corporation is based in benefits from its products and/or services. That being said. Most people don't see what the corporation does in other countries. For instance, Nike. Paying people something like 4 cents an hour to make shoes?? Come on. Then we pay $100 dollars for shoes that took about $2 to make? Not only are we getting screwed but what about the people that are literally slaves to them? By doing these things they also take jobs away from us. They don't want to pay $10 per. hour. However, they'd basically enslave people and children to work in deplorable conditions. Nobody here cares because nobody sees it. Once you see it, you begin to ask yourself "How can I support these entities when they treat people and the environment the way they do?".

It's not ethical or humane. Seriously, watch the video I posted in this thread... Sure it's 3 hours long, but the information is well worth its weight in gold. See them for what they really are. Profit-driven greed machines.
