Gold Teeth Thief. You can get it all right there! dj/rupture. Okay.
Three turntables. Dancehall. Hip-hop. Dub. Gabba. Noise. Paul Simon.
It could be all terrible and gimmicky and stupid. But, it's not. It's really great.
It's like the sound of the world, kind of. Because, like, he's putting together laptop glitch stuff from San Francisco and hardcore dancehall. And he puts together experimental ambient dub breakbeat stuff with Paul Simon circa 1986.
Another interesting thing is, like, how it kind of shows how the Third World really influences modern music. Not really Third World. But Africa and the Middle East. Right back to the Paul Simon song from Graceland. It was his African album. From Paul Simon doing Africa to Timbaland stealing the bhangra bounce beat thing on 'Get Ur Freak On.' And Nas has the Middle Eastern song. And people like Muslimgauze- the Muslimgauze guy creates music that's totally rooted in the Middle East as much as it's rooted in anything else and gives the songs titles like 'The Taliban' and 'Every Grain of Palestinian Sand' and 'Zion Poison.'
And at the same time people in the East are using all the Western ideas and such. You know? So, it's like they feed into each other, kind of. And this kind of shows that.
It took me a few listens before I knew I liked it. It's necessary, I think. I'd listen to bits and pieces and I wasn't that enthusiastic about it. I am enthusiastic about it now.
My favorite parts are the first half of the part A, the sped up 'Get Ur Freak On' and the instrumental of 'Oochie Wally' and when Bling Dog comes in, and the jungle remix of 'Here I Come' mixed up with a lot of noise, and the first half of part B with the Middle Eastern dance music opening it and the Non-Phixion intrumental and the Funkstorung Wu-Tang remix, and at the very end when the noise has built up to crazy levels and Project Pat is going over some crazy noisy breakbeat stuff and it slowly calms down and Paul Simon comes up and the Muslimgauze song and it ends with a live Miriam Makeba song.
The new dj/rupture mix thing is out now, too. It's getting an actual release rather than CD-R's and downloads. Violent Turd! Tigerbeat6. I think that's probably right.

They were pretty good. The Pop mix and the one that started with whatever the 80's metal track was and some loud noise. Pretty good.
