The Giants defensive line is slowly but inexorably moving towards legendary status.

its really a battle of two franchise quarterbacks against two lead leading defenses. you have to like big ben for his consistency and big play ability.

im going to say the steelers take it 24-14

damn big ben betrayed me! im not too worried about my team though seeing as how they are saddled by injuries, missing their top receiver, gave up 4 ints, a safety, flubbed 2 3rd down conversions and a td pass through penalties (all on the same drive) and the giants still were losing with under 4 mins in the 4th. I still think they take the AFC this year and maybe see a rematch in the super bowl.

True, it was really just a series of unfortunate events.

i know the league wants parity, but its getting it through injuries. its sad when you have to say things like "well they should win.. if they can stay healthy!" and to think they want to add more games.

I couldnt disagree with you more. I think the NFL is going way over board with fines and penalties for hard hits. The NFL is trying way to hard to protect their WR's, RB's, and QB's.

It would be very hard to tell whether it was working or not. Maybe you can find some statistics about the number of injuries from each year. I just think that the fines and all the flags for late hits and unnecessary roughness are getting a little lame

let the kids play ball

noooo see that is to protect the investment not the player. im sure a vast  majority of players oppose the fines and penalties and would love to just "play ball". If the league had the interest of the its players in mind, why would it send teams who are fighting for playoff spots overseas to play a midseason game? why do they continue to play 4 preseason games when it is unanimously opposed as too many? why have they repeatedly tried to expand the preseason, the season and the even the playoffs when most players and coaches agree the season is too long already? no, the nfl is not a player oriented league anymore. the crackdown on hits, penalties and off field conduct adversely affects the players for the sake of league image, and is NOT in place for player safety.

No one said it was for the safety of the players. I just said its getting old. I dont really like having a game played in London either it's pretty silly. I think they should scrap the 4 preseason games and add 2 more regular season games.

oh i thought injuries and player safety was what we were talking about  :rolleyes:

i agree that if they want to add games they should remove some from preseason.

gotcha

i still stand by my theory that the league is no longer player oriented and that parity is achieved by injuries though

You were just somehow inferring that the league isnt doing enough to protect the players. And I disagree

Yeah.  Am I the only one who doesn't understand why the regular center who often snaps to a shotgun wasn't doing it?
