oh and btw this was my first camera that came with any manual settings.

oh and btw i'd had it not longer than 3 months for any of these pics.

oh and btw don't be scared because in 3 months (at most) i'll be taking shots that crap on anything you've done.

<3

so yeah dude. for real. be a dick. it's fucking great, but i can see what the real issue is, and that is you have 15 decent to good pictures that you are not going to make it with.. and i've got a fuck ton that are sometimes snapshots sometimes okay and sometimes really fucking good.

i own you.

no offense, but, you need to work on your photoshop and photography skills first before selling some of your prints...they sort of remind me of mjshroomer's photoshop fractal art, where it was basically using plugins and such and labeling it "art"

I checked them out and they look very nice, you've obviously got a talent for photography. The shots themselves seem a bit cliche to me for some reason, particularly the angled church shots and the close up of the angry looking eye.

Other whys the quality is there and you seem to enjoy so get out there and find some really unique photos that only  a few other people might have, and just take shots. Sadly most professional photographers really have a subject in mind most of the time, be it nature or usually celebs.

let me just practice more while i sit around and die due to lack of money

it's sink or swim time, boO, and if i really need to get that much better, i'll do it in a hurry

i, personally, think you're just a hater, but maybe there's something to it, and if there is, mannnn, i'll adjust. <3

btw, most of my PS shit IS just standard filters and shit, because it improves, in my opinion, the way the finished product looks.

and the point, of course, is that i only need (xyz amount of) some clientelle and i have money.

you people are such haters.

i thought this was supposed to be like super happy psychedelic hippie land?

wtf, where did you yuppies come from?

GET OFF MY JOCK!!!

Its mildly creative criticism. Learn to accept it in the artistic community.

this is some badass advice and thank you for being honest and productive with your commentary and slight criticism.

i really, in all honesty, and without sarcasm (seriously) appreciate people like you. you make my day. thank you!

yep, i agree with a lot of it being cliche, but i chalk that up to just learning and wanting to try basic shit.

i do have a lot of ideas for shots i've composed over the past 6 months of (not) having my camera..so..hopefully i'll have some kickass shit to post in the coming months!

thanks again.

Exactly. Its like playing "smoke on the water" or "stairway to heaven" when you first learn guitar at 13, its not because you don't have different ideas and experiments you want to try. There just easy songs for beginners to play.

Have you taken any classes in photography or done any photo developing?

well you're asking people to look at your photographs, people are giving opinions, that's what happens..if you can't take any criticism, then i don't know....do you want us to say GREAT JOB DUDE THEY ARE TOTALLY AWESOME OMG FUCK LIKE WHERE CAN I BUY THESE PRINTS! otherwise, from my personal point of view, the composition of the photos seem very standard and beginners.

as i said, i'm not trying to offend you, it's just my personal opinion. I don't hate, i just tell it like it is.

You seem to have a very hard time with criticism. Do you really expect all of us to coddle you and tell you how incredible your skills are?

You're obviously a beginner to photography and photoshop, you aren't ready to sell prints. Nothing that you have shown stands out as fine art or even commercial art.

You should build a portfolio with nothing but the best. No blown out highlights, no grainy shots, no snapshots, interesting compositions, FOCUS!, purpose. Keep trying.

If you really want to develop your skills try signing up at one of the stock photo sites (shutterstock, istockphoto) and start reading the forums. I can tell you right now nothing you have posted will be accepted there though.

If you can't accept criticism, pack it in because you're finished.

plenty good strain-- you've got a knack but you will need to get a job to support yourself for now.

if you can, go to a community college and take a photo class or better yet, a class in cinematography.  Cinema is a good place to start understanding the concepts of vector, z-axis staging, contrast ratio, texture, lighting (key/fill), and all these things that none of the software will do for you.  If you get your subject and everything perfect in the frame to begin with, less needs done in post process resulting in a higher quality photograph.
Remember, many of the most famously acclaimed photographers in history accomplished all their work without the benefit of digital technology!  (some didn't even use lenses!)
The above mentioned elements are part of what make pictures or motion pictures visually stimulating to the viewer.  You could learn about it by yourself at your little computer but I highly recommend you go out and see if you can find a classroom where you can listen to someone who has already lived your dream.  I need to stress to you, CLASSROOM. You will get lots of extra mileage out of such an experience.

peace

p.s. I know a couple professional photographers and they can tend to be "lone-wolfish" and usually don't want to talk shop.  that's why I stress the classroom experience.  If you can find a good instructor you will be blessed with knowledge.
