Horse poo, useable?

I just shoveled a big bag of steamy, dry (but a bit fresh, less than a month old) horse poo that smelled of ammonia. I recognized the smell immediately, it was coming from the mixture of urine in the horse poo (the poo was gathered from stables, all the other poo had become unusealbe due to the amount of rain we've been having recently)
Is this poo rendered useless for my purposes, due to the ammonia content? Would I have to age the poo, maybe to give the micro-organisms a chance to reach an equilibrium. Am I utterly damned for my actions, will I ever get into heaven?

You just need to break up the poo and spread it out.....then leave it in the sun til it drys out.

If you need some now......go find some dried up poo in a field.

Wow this post is super old but I am kinda in the same situation I got a big bag of poo I have it spread out over a tarp to dry should I mist it down some before letting it dry in the sun or repeat over a period of days to mist dry mist dry till it has that leached look ?

Its not proper etiquette to revive old threads. See that big smiley in road kills signature?  yea that is what just happened to this thread.

But to answer the question dont mist it down just spread it out and let it dry. simple.
