contams after 1st flush

I have been casing rice flower cakes in 3-1 with wet verm under them. The first flush has turned out fine, other than a few smallies (several really) but when i scrape off the tops and add a little more 3-1, it always gets green before the second flush comes on. Several things come to mind. One, my plastic bins have perlite in them that has had H2o2 in them, can this get old, or am I just not getting all of the aborts out and this is killing them. Getting toothpics on the first flush and not getting a second one is getting a little heartbreaking, help me out.

from my experience, i found out that when cakes are sitting on wet verm with h2o2, the verm has to be changed after each flush. dunno, that was my experience.

H202 is in the perlite in my stowaway tubs to keep humidity up, verm is in bottom of gladware with black tape wrapped around it, sitting on the perlite. sorry if I wasn't clear
