If you like predators and/or larger fish, consider a motoro stingray. They're expensive, pretty difficult to keep, and are illegal in some states, but if you can deal with that then they are an amazing fish for a 125. They'd be good in a 125 for 5-8 years. They're one of the smaller freshwater rays.

Yeah, those are pretty sweet too.  I may just move my africans from my 55 gal. though.  I haven't decided yet.  Right now the 125 is a north american species tank, but that gets a little boring after a while.

You should get a Bowfin for the North American tank.

I can never catch one small enough.  I brought one home one time and he was just way too big.  They are cool ass fish though.  I've been wanting one of those in it since I put the tank together.
