The shenanigans begin
    #9018689 -

It's that time of year again, folks. Time for the vote-riggers to break out their usual sleazy bag of tricks. To no one's surprise, it's Ohio first out of the gate. From http://ace.mu.nu/archives/274703.php

Quote:
Ohio vote fraud begins in earnest

Ohio SecState nuance: "casting ballot" != "voting", so its perfectly fine for any random person to walk up, register and "cast a ballot" on the same day even though state law requires 30 days between registration and voting.

Of course, since there's no interlocks or cross checking, anyone could register and "cast a ballot" in multiple locations. Of course poll watchers are being turned away and told to fuck off since this is only early voting "ballot casting".

Update: AUDIO of Brunner mouthpiece trying (unsuccessfully) to explain this away.

You'll have to go to the link to access more links, including the audio link - I can't be bothered taking the time to make all the links active. You should be going to the main source anyway out of fairness to the guy who pays the bandwidth for the site.

But here's a related video:

It gets better. From http://www.thenextright.com/soren-dayton/barack-obama-is-glad-that-ohio-is-run-by-democratic-machines-like-chicago

Quote:
Given the things going on in Ohio over the next couple of days, perhaps Barack Obama shouldn't be comparing the Ohio election process to the Chicago machine:

Quote:
Transcript:

SUPPORTER 5: i would like to know what you can say to reassure us that this election will not be rigged or stolen? [applause] -- or stolen? [applause]

SEN. OBAMA: it helps in Ohio that we have democrats in charge of the machines.  but, look, i come from chicago. so I want to be honest, it is not as if it is just republicans who have monkeyed around with elections in the past. sometimes democrats have, too.

Turns out there's even some overlap between the Chicago and Ohio machiness; http://www.palestra.net/blogs/read/16408

Quote:
"Who are you voting for?" I asked another homeless man. "Baraaaack," he replied. "I want him to do his thang, you know, do his THUG THIZZLE, you know..."

As I started interviewing the homeless men, it became clear that their "buddies" who drove them to the polls were pushing quite an agenda. The homeless guys were being bribed with rides, food, and who-knows-what to go "vote."

My new THUG-THIZZLE friend told me that he wasn't even from Ohio and that he was getting on a Greyhound to go back to Chicago. Yet he was voting in one of the key battleground states? How was that fair?

And how was he going to get to the Greyhound station? His "friend" that had brought him to the poll promised to take him wherever he wanted... the only problem was, his friend appeared to be long gone.

At this point, I was disgusted that the organizations seemed to be exploiting the homeless. But I was even more disgusted when they flat out admitted it.

And we've still got a long way to go till Nov 4.

Sounds like a bunch of kool-aid.  If votes were really being rigged, it'd be in the mainstream news, not some internets blog.

You're right.  The Republicans have always been proponents of fair elections.

*chuckle*  I think there are groups in both parties that are fairly guilty.  It would be an error to stereotype the parties as a whole.  (Although I dislike the two party system.)

ACORN continues doing what it does best - perpetrate voter fraud. From say anything we have this:

Quote:
More Voter Registration Shenanigans: Indianapolis Has 105% Of Its Population Registered To Vote

Does ACORN have an office in Indianapolis?  You know they do.

Quote:
According to STATSIndiana, In 2007, Indianapolis/Marion County had an estimated population of 876,804. Of that number 232,607 were below 18 years of age, for a total of 644,197 people in Marion County/Indianapolis 18 or over and thus eligible to vote. (Indiana allows felons to vote as long as they are not incarcerated).

So we have 644,197 people eligible to be registered in Marion County/Indianapolis, and 677,401 people registered. Congratulations go to Indianapolis for having 105% of its residents registered!

Across the nation voter registration irregularities are coming to light.  Many of these irregularities involving the former employer, ACORN, of one of our Presidential candidates, Barack Obama.  Now it comes to light that Obama’s campaign has paid ACORN over $800,000 for “get out the vote” efforts so far this campaign season.

At some point, someone is going to have to look into this stuff.

Yeah, someone. But it won't be the mainstream media, that's a given. Eight hundred thousand, eh? Looks like the Obama campaign is getting their money's worth.

This reminds me of a comment I saw on someone's blog a week or so ago. I didn't bookmark it so I can't give credit to whomever it was who came up with it. It goes something like this:

When a Republican runs for president, it's like a team in the Super Bowl playing against  crooked referees (mainstream press media),  a cheating scoreboard and timekeeper (illegal voter registration and ballot fraud), a hundred per cent hostile crowd (entertainment media and hollywood) against a team thats allowed twenty-one players.

I confess I don't get the part about the twenty-one players, but the rest of the analogy holds up well. Some Republican party stalwart said last election cycle (he may even have written a book about it and I'm damned if I can remember his name at the moment) that in order to stand a chance of winning, Republican candidates have to be twice as good as their Dem opponents in order to overcome the oft-demonstrated Democrat ballot-stuffing and the cheerleading press.

I suppose Republicans could rig elections if they set their minds to it. But Democrats are past masters of the craft. They've been doing it for at least half a century (much longer than that in New York city) and are thus much more practiced at it than Republicans.

Katherine Harris, the 'independant', was pretty good at promulgating rules contrary to law and excluding folks.

Its silly to blame a party for election fraud though... Is their evidence the democrats actually did anything fraudulent?

This is all the more reason to allow transparency in elections with duplicate reciepts generated for all voting activities.

Obviously they're so good at it that they managed to lose the last two presidential elections.

It's important to note that this is based on Census data, which is notoriously understated. I'm not saying that there's no wrongdoing here, but I'd like to see a little more evidence. I also would like to know where he got the registered voter number from. I can't find it.
