These were found growing in some mulch after it rained, they bruse brown, and have a dark brown to black spore print.

This one showing the gills

i found a dozen or so of these

the brown blob in the back of this pic is sclerotium from another mushroom i found will post pic of that one and another red mushroom i also found later. these were found in kentucky.

I agree with Mitchnast that this is a tough one. I'm going to take a wild guess and say that it looks similar to Psathyrella hymenocephala. But I won't put a lot of confidence in that guess.

Those definately look trippy even in the pics. Nice work. I'd say it looks like some sort of psilocybe

Are there specimens of different ages available? It would probably help to see some young ones.

Are the cap/stem slimy, sticky, moist, dry?

Is there any unusual or distinctive odor?

Could you cut one of them in half vertically and show us the inside?

If you have a microscope we could look at some things with it, also.

no unuasual smell, thin stems hallow, bruses brown when abused, caps were dry, they were all about the same age just smaller sizes

here is a pic of all the mushrooms i picked the 2 on the left were young and formed sclerotium i think they were diff types than the ones on the right.

they are all dryed up so it wouldnt help to cut one it half now.
