I'm glad he's alive. That guys been through a lot of shit, it'd be such a shame if he died so young.

But yeah he is(was, depending on how badly he's injured) an amazing drummer. He's definitely done his homework. Someone to truly be inspired by.

Seriously though, fuck Blink 182! That shit lead to the whole poser/emo/scene lifestyle. So they should all really be shot. I blame the record companies. Travis Barker is cool in my book.

I dunno about barker, but blink 182 did lead the destruction of the punk music scene. He gets props for being in the Aquabats, but that was the past. He was now a part of blink182, and I hope they don't recover from the loss and fall into obscurety. Death, you did good this timr...if only Fallout Boy and some other poser bands burned to death on that plain...dreams.

If this were say, Jerry Garcia, I would be very very sad(RIP Jerry). Sadly, that happened in 1995.

You really get happiness from someone else's misfortune just because they play a genre of music you don't like? That's really, really low.

I don't like Blink 182 at all, but the guy is an amazing drummer and seems like a very humble person.

I get no pleasure from him being hurt. But I also think, so fucking what.
There are so many people suffering horribly, or dying at this minute.
That I'm not going to give this guy a moments thought.

And I don't see how he is a humble person at all. Personally...

But as I said, I wish him no ill. But empathy for him? Well some, but plenty more for all those not reported on.
Over 20,000 children that die everyday from starvation for example. One example of many.

Yeah, I understand that. I wasn't talking about you, I meant doom876. I just meant that he seems humble in interviews I've seen with him. The other members of his old band were loud and obnoxious but he seemed really composed and peaceful.

I agree that there's no need to make a fuss about him, but there's still no reason to rejoice in his pain.

'tis not the genre or sound(which is catchy I'll add), it's what this group annd many others have done to the scene. It's like how "emo" and "pop punk" invaded punk, claming to be it, then it invaded the indie scene(such as in Wickita Falls where I lived). It's corperate nowdays, not musical. I would have enjoyed the sixties and seventies, it had it's problems, but at least it had substance. Notice how there are few bands from today that the music enthusiests clamor to? Zep, Sex Pistols, Grateful Dead, the inovation has left to give way to music you can dance to instead of art. Not that there are not still good bands that sings more then "I'm Feeling This" or "Suger, We're going Down". The Gossep Girls of music, who grab hold of a teen audience with style over substance. That's my beef. There would be room for these bands, and my disdain would be far less if equally good bands with more to say and something to add to the noise besides another love song got some media or lable attention. Maybe it's the negative reactions to novelty Terrence Mckenna speaks of, the greater society heady to something warm and safe that is backed by a corperation that keeps it mainstream rather then embracing artists.
By the way, my views on overpopulation are not Tommy Chong-esque, so, deaths are good for that problem; I'm also not a people person. Maybe I'm just angry, I'm taking a weed break and everything seems less awesome after a week(I know it isn't addictive, but still, I'm missing my bud-dy)

this is the damn shroomery of all places, i figured people would respect someone's drive and focus on something as awesome as music.  travis barker was(and hopefully still will be for a LONG time) one hell of a musician and regardless of your musical tastes, blink 182 revolutionized pop music for more than a few minutes.  he did a lot for the music scene.  hell, speaking for me, bands like blink 182 inspired me to start worshiping dimebag darrell and zakk wylde.

this thread kind of saddens me..

What does pantera and blink 182 have to do with each other?

EX-wife, I believe.  But yeah, she's hot.

What terrible news!  I heard DJ AM was burned over most of his body, including his face.  I also heard that Travis was burned from the waist down.  :frown:  So, so sad...

I HATE flying!  *shudders*

regardless of wether or not you like Blink 182, you gotta admit Travis Parker is one hell of a drummer... glad to see a great musician wasn't taken from this planet so early in his life..

I really liked their albums Dude Ranch and Cheshire Cat. I thought it was decent music and it came out before the pop punk scene really took off and got shitty.

I haven't heard any specifics about Travis' condidtion but the other guy I really feel bad for. Getting burned is so damn painful and he was burned over 50% of his body and all over his face. They said they put him in a medically induced coma..damn. I would stay on morphine as much as possible if that was me.
