The last time I was in Detroit we got lost walking back to where we parked at night. We were practically glowing compared to everyone else, some black girl came up to us and lead us to our car because she was "scared for us". I was fucking scared for us too...

i live in detroit, its something you get used to. The benifits outwiegh the risks in my opinion. How far away do you live exactly?

Philly is getting worse and worse murder wise. I've had my fair share of walking around in ghetto's

never been but i've heard philly has been pretty bad for a long time...

there is defintely an epidemic in certain urban areas that really needs to be addressed...

i have never had a problem in the ghetto other then when i was really really little kid and i mistake a boy with braided hair for a girl, i was like 7 years old maybe something like that back in the jump roping days and playing with ants. the kid came back with his cousin who had a gun ready to shoot me. i hid in this great black woman's closet and she argued with the guy about me not being there. it was intense. at 7 years old girls dont have boobies i called him a girl and he got pissed.

the hood is a though place. if you dont mess with anyone or look at anyone the wrong way or dont have made bling and dont look tough your fine

And there lies the problem when your a teenager with a genetic disposition for muscle mass, with a shaved head, and a beard. People start fights just to try and look tough amongst their friends.

I still get into shit when I go over to a friend of mines house that has lived in the middle of the ghetto his whole life. I even had some pieces of shit start a fight with me while helping move a mattress.

People who live in the ghetto; you cant live with them.........and you cant get a double cheeseburger for $0.99 without 'em. :shrug:

It has been and the murder counts go up every year. All I remember is the news counting till we got to 400 labeling the bloodiest weeks etc.

I have made hundreds of trips to some bad parts of Philly when I was younger.  There have been times where our car was completely surrounded by dealers, thugs, etc, banging on the car, hands in the windows, even one time taking the keys right out of the ignition and throwing them (wasn't a fun night).  I have personally (including two friends of mine) been mugged at gunpoint (don't know if it was loaded or not) on Franklin St. off of Alleghany (<spelling?) ave.  We used to buy coke there.  Haven't been down there in years and never been down there on foot.  Scary place for a white suburbian.

watch out for coons too. this one time i was buying drugs from newark and a raccoon came out and scared the drug dealer it was so funny. its funny when a black man with a gun in the hood is afraid of coons
