Mycobags for use on bulk subs.?

I have been growing on bulk substrate(straw). I am using extra light powdered malt extract and quart jars currently. I have been thinking about using the myco bags instead of the jars of malt extract for several reasons. The main reason being contamination. I have been looking around and have seen various styles of myco bags....mycomania makes a few different styles which contain different mediums in each bag. My question is can I use a mycobag to grow out my mycelium, and then in turn transfer the mycelium from the bag to the bulk substrate? Thanks

Actually, I'm not sure what you're doing with the malt extract. Are you growing the mycelium in a malt solution? I don't think the bags will work well for this purpose. Plus, I don't really think the bags are any more contaminant resistant than a jar with a filter.

I am using the malt extract in the jars with 2 cups of water as a liquid innoculum. I am letting the mycelium grow out in and then pouring it over my wheat straw. The contamination will be less because the bags come presterilized....now stop me if I am wrong...but the pre sterilized bags will cut down on my work and most of the contamination risks. I know that the contamination risks are pretty much equal once the jars or bags have been innoculated but I am referring to all the steps that go into the process before I inoculate the jars with spores.

No I had no specific "tek" or "recipe" working. I am just doing what I have learned from the "bible" of all mycology books(Stamets indoor mushroom cultivation)and what I have read on here. It is more a combination of different peoples ideas and what not. I am using a perlite base with straw layered on top with a casing layer also taken out of stamets book.
