Blown speaker... cost to repair?
    #8857516 -

I have a pair of Yamaha MSR 100 monitors and one of them making a particularly annoying clicking noise.  The cone appears to be intact... any thoughts on how much it would cost to fix?

what's the value of the monitor in question?

The most cost effective way to repair it, would be to replace it. Either by replacing the blown speaker itself, or just buying a new monitor.

369 a piece... bit over my budget to just buy a new one. :justdontknow:

Kinda hoping reparations will only be under 100 bucks.

doubtful. The only way to fix the speaker itself is to recone it (replace the cone, spider, tinsel leads, basically all the soft parts).

If you were to take it to someone to fix it, they would more then likely just slap in a fresh 8" woofer and be done with it. That's something you could do yourself easily.

Perhaps contacting yamaha, they could provide you with what specific driver is in your monitor, and you could find a replacement, or buy one direct from them.

 Sorry man, just couldn't help it. Best of luck with your speaker!
