One of the guys I interviewed was a young white guy with 5 teardrop tattoos on his face.  The other was a black guy in his late 30's(?) with a two full teardrops on one side and a black teardrop with red filling on the inside.

id like you to examine the possibilty that the people who have tear drop tattoos on their faces who got that tattoo because they killed someone wouldn't go check wikipedia before they got the tattoo.  and maybe the people who also consider a teardrop tattoo a sign of murder would likewise not be the type of people to be on the internet. 

i think its two different worlds.  just because you put a set of rules on wikipedia, it doesn't make them the accepted meaning for everyone.

I don't think all people here are discriminating they are just stating commonly know facts about the workforce. I used to get really pissed at my friends who would complain they couldn't get a job because of their tats or piercing. They would say its not fair and people shouldn't discriminate. Especially with piercing I would tell them there is a time to take a stand and a time to support yourself. You have to decide what you are going to do. Life's not fair, people will always discriminate against other people.

By the way I love piercing and tats.

Back on topic. I always heard that its was for murder but later learned it usually is based upon losing someone close like family. I have never been told by someone with the teardrops that it was for murder. Everyone who told me it was for murder were people that were terrified of the people with the tats.

What makes you think thugs or gangsters can't use a computer or pay for internet access?

They have computer classes in almost all prisons in Florida, they usually have 2 or 3 computers in the GED classroom:shrug:

Oops, I missed this.  Didn't mean to ignore you, Effed.  Anyway, I work for a staffing agency.  We have lots of competition in the area and we absolutely can not send someone with a facial tattoo, much less a teardrop tattoo, out to work at one of our clients.  Every person that we send out to work at one of our clients represents our company and it would make us look really bad to send someone like that. 

I really don't mean to sound discriminatory or judgmental or close minded, but if you get a facial tattoo, you will never, ever again be seen as an equal to people.  You will always be viewed as being completely fucking out there and possibly dangerous.  It's a permanent sign of extremely bad judgment and no one wants to take a chance and hire someone with extremely bad judgment.
