Teardrop tattoos

What do you think they mean?  Supposedly, different kinds of teardrop tattoos mean different things.  But if you see someone with a teardrop tattoo under their eye, what do you think it means (without looking it up)?

I think drops of blood coming from a heart tattoo mean the same thing.

Yeah, everyone thinks it's something different.  I thought that it meant that you killed someone.  I have interviewed two guys in the last week that have teardrop tattoos on their face.  Now, I would never hire someone with a facial tattoo regardless of the meaning of the tattoo, but I'm just kinda curious to know if these guys are murderers or not.

Yeah, it takes a special quality person to get facial tattoos.
