Food color and Flavors

I was searching some older post and I found information about adding food color to a substrate to tint the fruit, also adding vanilla extract or peppermint to give flavor. I didn't believe so but somebody said YES.

I wanted to check with some more reliable sources.

If so this would be a great final touch to a beautiful fruit.

It doesn't work.  Are mushrooms grown on manure brown or taste like poop?

You can put food coloring on the stems and caps after you harvest, if you're so inclined.

LOL!! I can't stand the taste of cubies!
I actually  grind em up and put them in chocolate most of the time. I think I'll try the tobasco.

what if you were to give the mushrooms a misting with a diluted mixture of vanilla extract and water at about 75% dry? What about sclerotia?
