Intelligence chatter

Does anyone have a single clue as to what that could possibly mean?

They talk about it every time they raise the threat level.

It's always so vague though.

The best part was during the press conference yesterday, either Ashcroft or Ridge was asked by one of the reporters why if they thought there was a risk for 9/11 did they wait until the day before to alert everyone.

The dude responded that they had gotten some information very recently.

The reporter asked, "When you say very recently, what do you mean? Days? Hours?"

Dude replied "Yes. Thanks, no more questions."

So what could intelligence chatter possibly mean?

we listen in on other countrie's telecommunications
each and every day. a big computer flags certain words.
When the chatter is more voluminous and more of the words
are flagged, the intelligence community figures something is up
