Anyone else having shittastic allergy problems right now?

Ugh. I've been feeling progressively worse and worse over this past week. Stuffy nose, ears won't pop in the mornings, blowing my nose every five minutes, eyes are itchy... Typical allergy symptoms.

Just wondering if anyone else is having problems with their allergies right now? I don't know what my triggers are, but something is messing me up pretty bad right now. Anyone know what allergens are in high percentage right now? I'm in north Jersey currently.

I take Singular daily, it doesn't seem to be doing the trick, so I picked up some Claritin. Hopefully that works. What works best for you?

Off the shelf doesn't do shit for me, but generic allegra every night and I am cured.  That shit is miracle!

but my fav medicine... is another let down.. its just like claritin but its the walgreens brand. Walitin DDD.. You can use it for a week or two out of the month.. how fucked up is that. Plus they have pretty heavy side effects like light headedness and it sucks studying on that shit. It works tho... So you don't have to kill the skin around your nose. What are you reacting to?

I used to have severe allergies. The older I get the less I get them though.

nope i dont really get allergys. I dont even get poison oak. I heard claritin is great though.

claritin used to be great until it became over the counter, its still the best out there, but not as good as it used to be...tiny ass little tic tacs compared to what you used to be able to get.  $10 used to get you a months supply for 250-500mg that would turn you into an aids victim.  the pills out now are 10mg i think lol just enough to make you think somethings happening...but soon as you feel it thats the peak and in half hour your back to where you were i think benedril spelled wrong but however it is spelled thats the best shit out for allergys but it knocks your ass out to well when i was a kid it did anyway

but yah there's some fucked up shit floating around causing allergy like symptoms...but its not allergys its infectoins...so pay close attention to every part of your body

Yeah man, I think ragweed is what's causing it. I just woke up about 30 minutes ago because of this shit. Can't fall back asleep :frown:

I had some really fucking bitchin' allergies raging yesterday for no apparent reason to me.  Then I walked by the lillies I bought my girlfriend for her birthday and started having a sneezing fit soooo... I took a sample of Allegra that I was given by a sympathetic doc, took some painkillers, smoked a fat bowl and everything cleared up pronto, just in time for a quick hike.  :thumbup:

I use noname brand claritin.  the 10mg 24hour shit. 
The problem is, if I get bad reactions 2 days in a row, it gets weaker.  The more often you use that shit, the less they work.  =\

I have allergies to dust, cats, and i think ragweed.  So, naturaly, my gf bought a cat.  I almost fuckin slapped her.  Anyway, I love the little shit, but not so much when my face feels like its melting.

Protip:  If you blow your nose a lot, and get to the stage where it feels perma blocked (but not runny), you can lie down on your side, breathe thru your mouth and the nasal passages will clear if you time your swallowing right.  I know that sounds really fucked up and complicated in a way, but once you feel it you'll be surprised.
Usualy only the side facing the ceiling will clear.  I actualy had to get used to sleeping on my side due to this. It's the only way for me to get proper sleep.  You can also buy strips from the pharmacy that fit over your nose, and pull the skin apart.  This expands the nasal passage in your nose and allows you to sleep. 
They're kinda expensive tho, about a buck a piece (one use).

I suggest buying a HEPA air filter too.  There are some pretty cheap ones at places like walmart.  Just have it running in the room you're going to be in all day, or sleeping in.

ive noticed the side thing as well, however with me if i sleep on my right side my left nostril will close shut for some gay reason. if i sleep on my left side my heart feels like its going to explode usually.  so im stuck sleeping on my back with my head turned to the left every night lol

if you want a cheap nose strip you can go to the back and grab a couple pens, open them up and they have springs inside, stick one in each nostril and that will keep your nose open, just make sure you tie a string to them or something so if they slip you can get them back out

for the hepa filter i actually heard the ones in the stores are kinda crap, you can buy a small squirrel cage blower and buy direct from manufacters and make you some really awsome hepa filters.  for the quality you would be getting, you'd be spending less money, especially considering they tend to rape you on the refills, and in 5 years they have new models and then you need a new machine

Man i hear you gumby. This shit is going to be the death of me. I wake up sometimes gasping for breath. I feel kind of fluish when my allergies hit me. I would take a pill, but the stuff knocks me out, and i gotta get up with my kids around 7, so i better just suffer!

Used to live with allergies, finally said fuck it and went to see an allergist.  He put me on this stuff and I haven't had a single attack since.  I can probably count the number of times I've sneezed on two hands since I started snorting flonase :lol:  Seriously I used to suffer horribly from allergies.  Do yourselves a favor and get on this shit, its a miracle.
