Virgin Mobile Fest was amazing! (I now have pinkeye)

Day 1

The ride down was really smooth, and we got there in plenty of time for the show.  The hotel made me want to kill somebody though.  They wouldn't let us check in until 3pm that day so we just caught a cab over to the Pimlico Raceway for the show.  I hid my bowl in my shoe and my lucy in my sock...  They didn't even pat us down.  If we didn't have bags we could go right through.  I ended up taking the lucy about an hour later and started tripping something fierce!  :rockon:  We headed to the dance tent when all the ravers were and had a blast!  I don't dance.  EVER.  Unless I'm really drunk or something but my friend and I were tearing it up for at least an hour, then headed out for more food and drink.  We caught Lupe Fiasco, Bloc Party, The Offspring, and then Foo Fighters.  The latter 2 were awesome, especially the Foo.  David Grohl is quite the performer (and well paid for it I hear).  Then this black dude comes up on stage looking just like Flava Flav in a big sequined outfit jamming on the guitar,  who I later realized to be Chuck Berry. :lol:  You'd think the fact that he was playing "Johnny be Good" would have given it away but hey I was tripping.

This is where the bullshit starts.  We follow the girls (my friends gf and her friends) back to their hotel like  2 miles away and my friend started fighting with his gf.  They're at the bickering stage of their relationship and it was getting annoying.  I had to tell him when to hold his tongue because he hasn't learned yet. :lol:  So we FINALLY get a cab back to OUR hotel, another 2 miles away, and stand behind a huge line of angry teen girls pissed that they didn't get a room 3 months ago like we did.  We stood behind them and listened to all of the bullshit when finally it was our turn.  They didn't see us in the computer at first (what else is new?) but we eventually got our keycards and headed to the room. 

They didn't work.  At this point were drunk, sore, tired, and pissed off.  I go down to wait in line AGAIN and the guy changes my card to work.  I run back up to the room to open it and my friend has his ear up against it,  "Dude, I think there's people in our room."  We open the door and it's fucking chainlocked.  The girl comes out and is like, "Uh..  you need something?"  It was the fucking whiny bitch from the lobby!  They gave her our fucking room. 

We raised all hell till we finally got our room, and guess what.  The keys didn't work.  I went out and got them charged again and we went into the room, clicked off the light, and passed out.

Day 2

A lot of drinking and walking around, loads of italian sausage sandwiches, and lots of music.  STP was amazing, I also saw Paramore and NIN.  NIN had a pretty elaborate light setup going.  It was really something, probably the most decorated concert I've seen yet.  I probably would've liked it more if I knew more of their songs though.  My friend and his gf got in another fight, then we went home.  I'm still sore but for once I'm not sun burnt.  SPF 45 ftw! 

I was actually looking forward to spending more time with my ex that was there.  (My highschool sweetheart) but when you're friends are fighting the sexes team up. :lol:

Sorry I didn't get any good pictures, they never come out and all look the same anyway.  I got some vids of STP and NIN though.

He was playing the same time as STP and the majority of the group wanted to see them. :lol: In all it was a blast.  The food, drink, and beautiful girls at every angle was reason enough to go, the music just made it better.  :wink:

aw man i really wanted to go but i couldnt find anyone who could actually afford a trip.. it sucks having broke friends.

i did get to go see smashing pumpkins there last year though, and that was amazing.

Very true about the girls, lots of beautiful girls all over!  the food there is outrageous though, i think i payed like 6 dollars for a big piece of pizza last year, and beer was about that price as well... Ridiculous!  but i still paid it because concerts are better intoxicated :smile:

I would have went if it wasn't so fucking expensive.  For that much money they could at least had it at a venue that aloud camping.

I just found out I have pinkeye too.  :lol:  Wonder if it was from the shitty hotel or the thousands of people I was in contact with.  Especially in the dance tent..:eek:  My friend said pinkeye is when you get shit in your eye though so I dunno.  Come to think of it my ass was itching something fierce the first night before bed... 

Well you know what Confucius say:  He who go to bed with itchy butthole wake up with smelly finger.


It's cool though.  I got to leave work early today to go to the docs and get some drops.

Hey, I was there!  We probably saw each other at some point, really wasnt that big of an area.  STP was crazy, all of us managed to push up to the very front while Iggy was still on stage.  Some dude in back of us got his nose broken by somebody crowd surfing, it was pretty intense in there.

BTW their was guy by that amazon forest dome that looked fucking EXACTLY like Maynard James Keenan.
