So I go into the phone store to pay my bill

Then I remembered something

When I first set up the account, I had to give them like a $500 deposit because I had some really small (like a couple hundred bucks) outstanding debt to another phone co at the time.

So today I realized, how come I havent gotten that deposit back yet? Its been over a year since I started the account!

Then, this snooty little bitch behind the counter says: "You have to call customer service and ask for your deposit back."

So i was like "WTF? I have to call them to get MY money back? What a colossal heap of bullshit."

So then the chick goes: "Well at least they give you the opportunity to get your money back."

so I say: "THEY give ME the 'opportunity' to get MY MONEY back? Thats the stupidest fucking thing I've ever heard. ITS MY MONEY!!!!"

so she says: "Well, the deposit was necessary..."

Bullshit. If they knew how much unreported cash I have stored in various places they would not have even dreamed about asking me for a deposit. The only reason I have unpaid debts on my credit report is because of OTHER PEOPLE'S MISTAKES, not mine. Knowing all this, I gave them the $500 anyway, because it was easier than getting my credit report straightened out.

So now, TMOBILE wants me to call them and ask for my money back? Fucking fascist bitches. They also want me to have a Perfect Payment record for 6 months before they'll give it. The nerve of these people disgusts me. Their service is far from perfect (dropped calls, bad reception, etc etc, and yet they want me to be perfect?

Thats it TMOBILE. You're on my shit list now. Prepare to be destroyed.

you think t-mobile is bad try talking to sprint customer service i said fuck them and their bill they aint getting shit ive since switched to prepaid and am way happier aint had to call customer service once

thats another thing: The second my bill is past due, they call me like a jillion times to remind me. Same with the cable company. But their service sucks! If they spent the same amount of effort into improving their service as they did collecting their bills, I might not have such a hard time remembering to pay!

Also, if they are going to punish me for paying late, how come I am never rewarded when I pay early?

Here, here Desiree!  I've never had any problems with T-Mobile, nor have I had any problems with my credit (and subsequently I've never had to pay something as whack as a $500.00 deposit).  I take responsibility for all of my experiences.  (Which isn't always the most fun).  Maybe their service sucks (in your opinion) 'cause they can't afford to provide good service 'cause they're waiting on monies from their customers who won't fulfill their contractual obligations.  Dunno, just a thought.

It took a year for me to get my deposit back from sprint. I once went to one of their call centers and ended up being escorted out by security.

funny you should mention, I just got a new liscense plate

the old one fell off

at first, I thought this was because I hadn't used long enough screws

at closer inspection, the clips that held the screws were badly designed and defective.

so anyway, I replaced the clips and got a new liscense plate

Hey man, I work for T-Mobile at an outsourced call center. I actually work in the TTY dept as a senior, and I'm also cross trained in web correspondence... so if you email or something I'd be the kind of person who replies.

As far as your deposit's concerned, I can sympathize with you. I get things like this all the time. Please be advised that you must wait a period of 1 year before you can request your deposit. If you haven't had any NON-PAY SUSPENSIONS in the past 6 months, you will receive the check for your deposit in approximately a week. The request is filed and sent to our Cash Applications Team (CAT), within 48 hours it's answered and the check's mailed... so yeah, a week and it's there.

Now a lot of people slip up from time to time and get a non-pay suspension. You're fucked. Why did this happen? No offense, but if you can't pay your bill then just call in and say so. After your bill statement's mailed out, you have almost a month to pay it. And you have a ~10 grace period before you're even charged a late fee. So if you can't pay, call in and ask for "Financial Services" or "Financial Care". Guaranteed, the dude will give you a payment arrangement.

People who activate with smart access accounts or even with bad credit classes and $1000 deposits end up having perfect payment histories from time to time. It's amazing. All you have to do is know your close date/due date and make payments on time.

I know that lots of CSRs and RSRs are dicks and don't know anything about their company. Fuck, T-Mobile isn't even in Canada and I own those bitchs. I wish that they were here because they at least don't have any bullshit hidden fees. They're actually pretty decent if you don't want to get dicked around, just crappy phones and mediocre prices.

What you need to do is dial #225# (#BAL#), send from your T-Mobile phone and you instantly get a balance alert. Your balance, due date, ANY PAST DUE AMOUNTS, and important shit comes right back to you for free. I wish Rogers had features like T-Mobile. They really do help if you use them.

Had you known about this, I'm sure you would have avoided it.... kinda sucks, man. If there was something that I could do, I probably would. I'd likely get in HUGE shit for going into your account without you actually calling in, because T-Mobile's crazy like that.... but people have emailed us, written down the case number and given it to outsourced reps to query. When we have your case, we just open up your account and answer your email like it came in honestly and randomly lol.

Call customer care and ask when you were last suspended for non-payment, see how much longer you have to wait and it's all good.

I'm kinda weird when it comes to work. I can obsess about shit like this. Retention rate plans, hassling reps, sups and managers until they credit you for shit, I'm all about that lol. All my friends have retention rate plans and subsidized cell phones for 1 year or no contracts!! I'm tha man. Flip me a pm if you need help or anything. I'm not at work now, but fuck I'm always willing to help a shroomerite.

I dont think my service has ever been disconnected.  my phone service, that is :wink:

so maybe I'll give em a call and get that scrilla back.  Will they give me cash or just apply it to my future bills?

Research cell phone service providers before you commit to one. Pay your damn bills on time. Keep your credit in good standing. Then you wouldn't have these problems.

Great tips to live by. Believe it or not, I just activated with my first post-paid provider in October lol

No worries though, man. Seriously, just follow DNKYD's advice. Keep your account current, use My T-Mobile and the balance messenger and make sure that you never run into overages. People always owe thousands to wireless providers. I see dudes run their bill up and go straight to a collection's agency. Kiss your credit rating goodbye, over a cell phone too, dude. Whaaaaaattt!

But yeah, you should be able to get your deposit back in full. I forgot to mention, if there is an outstanding balance on the account, they will deduct the charges from your deposit and send a check for the difference. All in all, $500 back is not too bad. Pay off the balance and then make your request if you want a lump sum. Just something easier to calculate in your head I suppose.
