Hunt After Tropical Storm Eduard
    #8739115 -

Well today I decide to check out one of my hunting spots a few days after Tropical Storm Eduard. The field seemed to be a little on the dry side even though we had quite a bit of rain. We went thru a long period of dry weather this year. Did find a few cubes but I was truly looking for some copes, but no copes. I guess depending what area around Houston, some places got more rain than others. My spot evidentially did not get as much as other spots, but at least I found a some actives. Here are some of the pictures from todays hunt. Not all of the pictures are active.

Notice an inactive on the same patty as the large cube!

More inactives:

Nice photos.  It looks like a baby cube popping out in the last pic with the pan. ant's.  To bad Eduard didn't give you more moisture - but it sounds like your area is playing "catch-up" anyways.  If you get some gulf moisture soon you could be set.:mushroom2:
Peace bro, happy hunting.

I saw that as I was hunting and thought that it could be a baby cube but was not sure. So I left it alone.

Yup, its a baby cube; but that's ok.  It'll be bigger next time.

The last time I had a successful hunt was in April. At that time all the actives were out in the open away from the shade. All that I found today were in the wooded area protected by shade except for 1 lonely cube. That is interesting how the cubes grow in different areas depending on the season. Cooler weather/out in the open. Hot weather/protected by shade.

great finds i find interesting how cubensis can  grow in diferent  month of the year depending of the rain , in my area they have  1 only season but in south mexico is mostly year round too as in some places of texas and florida .
