colorizing in gimp

anyone know how to colorize a certain range of colors, in this case turn someones skin green? preferebly different shades, I.E someone has elf ears on and I want to make her look like yoda.

It's super easy on GIMP too (damn elitists).  There's a color balance, or hue, or something like that in the options. Just fuckin look for it because GIMP is on my other computer.

Had to install it on this comp anyways.  Color>colorize.  Fuckin genious eh :mypleasure:

I just used the software that came with my camera, pretty much any of them should do it.

I actually figured that part out,

I remember doing it once in photoshop,

what I am trying to do is make a general area, like her skin, green tinted, not the WHOLE picture.

Try Colors > Map > color range mapping.

Im playing around with it right now. I haven't used gimp much. I think whatever you do, you have to outline her skin first tho, otherwise, whatever color range effects you apply, itl relate to the entire image which you dont want. Try making the outline, then do the color mapping, select the color of the range, and use the color picking tool thing on the right side of the box that comes up to select the range. Play around with it, or do some searching.

Okay then, ya, the color range might work.  Otherwise, you're gonna want to mess with layers.

worked with layers to set a clear background,

problem I have is although it is a good program, i dont know exactly what to type to google what I want to do.

googling "seeting a clear background in gimp" is easy, but not sure how to word this task...
