Some more PA mushrooms (ID PLEASE)

All found in western PA

Species 1
Growing from ground

gills are light brown to brown

stem is 3 1/2 inches tall, light brown, ball at end

cap is 2 inches wide, light brown, smooth

no bruising
looked like a Gym Junious when it was normal but, the cap got broke :frown:





Species 2
growing from ground

gills are light gray/purplish

stem is 3 inches tall, has a ring on stem, about same color as cap

cap is 1 inch wide, brownish cap, faded on top



Species 3
growing from ground

gills are off white

stem is 1 1/2 inches tall, off red color

The last one is a Russula.

The second one looks like Cortinarius to me, and the first one is anyone's guess. But the stem on the first one definitely looks like that of laughing gym.

Also the base of the stipe doesnt look right at all for a gym, gyms tend to taper down like this...and i dont see and veil remnants on the stipe

one more thing, what am i looking for when gym hunting....lots of pine tree forests around my area...is that a good place to look for gyms?

I think it's beat-up mushroom with no ID.  There isn't enough to tell what it is for me, just what it isn't.

You can find Gyms on pines, but I normally find them on Elm.  They don't grow with the tree--mycorrhizal--they eat up the tree--lignicolous, or saprophytic.

A mixed forest containing pines and deciduous trees would be a better place to hunt.

if you end up with a rusty brown print tomorrow dont eat it cuz i know its not a gym, it would be another shroom with a rusty brown print and most of those are deadly. So if you ate it tomorrow youll die. have a nice day;)
