Quitting and Detoxing off of Pot

This may be the most pussy ass thread in the history of the Shroomery but I'm actually kind of scared. I've been baked every day of my life for the last three months, and not just baked but ripped to a vaporizer. Most days I smoke until I pass out. I really need to quit. I'm stuck in a shitty job I hate and the only reason I'm there is because I get paid pretty well and can afford to buy the amount of pot I do. Most of my friends are piece of shit drug addicts who talk shit about each other and try to con each other out of stuff. My intelligence and motivation has dropped. It seems like the majority of things I say now makes no sense. I need to quit.

Anyone have any advice? Is there any type of food or liquid I could get that'll make the transition easier?

Eat LOTS AND LOTS of greens.  They will alkalize your body and are incredibly cleansing.  They can help break addictions.  Lots of dark leafy greens helped me quit for four months.  I started back up again last month.  I'll take a break again when I'm ready. 

Also, quitting pot is only as much of a big deal as you make it out to be.  Just remember to keep relaxed.  Get a few new books.  Work out more, etc.

drink alot of water, they got this good as 7 day detox at GNC it'll take everything out of your system in a week, that'll at least help you revove aal the THC from your system, that'll make it a bit easier, but still you have the mental thing to take care of, I smoked everyday all day for 16 years I just quit about 5 months ago & put on 40 lbs, shit sucks

i quit over a week ago, it wasn't hard at all but mybe that was because it was starting to get shitty, i don't enjoy the "high" anymore, it feels more like a low.

Plus i'm not a smoker so i thought it was dumb to fuck up my lungs.

I see this happen to so many people. It's happened to me many times and I think it's because of the way that most of us view the drug.

I used to have the attitude of "pot is harmless, it can't kill me, so I'll stay stoned forever."

Finally I came to the common sense realization that just because it can't kill me, that doesn't mean that I can dope myself up for months or years and then expect to feel healthy.

if you want to quit, just quit.

and find better friends anyway. you can get pot from lots of people,

or just smoke less, or not every day,

I once quit for 30 days just to see if I could do it. it was very easy. I even had pot I could smoke, but didnt.

I used to smoke everyday, and now I dont anymore. You may crave it, but its not addicting, its just mildly habit forming.

if you cant sleep, just take some benadryl the first few nights, and be sure to get in the right sleep rythym.

and just remember, if you quit for a while, you will get way more high next time you actually do.

You have only smoked every day for the last three months?  Is that the extent of your MJ use?  If so you should have no trouble whatsoever quitting.  It is mainly a matter of finding something else to do with yourself when you would normally be smokin.  I found it hard to break the routine of coming home from work and gettin stoned.  I had to find another activity to replace it.  Taking a walk with a significant other is always good.  Relaxing too.

i dont advocate quitting
but i quite a 24/7 weed high a few years ago and it was really easy
u dont need any help the only thing u need is something to occupy ur time
i wanted to cut back on kratom for a while cuz of my tolerance so i just drank alcohol instead than quite that since its easier to quit 4 me

I tried to quit a while ago, gave up in the same day. Back then I was constantly stoned, would just wake up and start smoking weed. Also, I didn't have a job.

I smoke really differently now, though. I usually just have a couple puffs in the evening. I could get stoned first thing in the morning every day if I wanted (I have enough and I can do my job stoned), but I just prefer the one light sesh a day. There are always exceptions, of course, but they are just that - exceptions. It's much more refreshing that way.

I periodically take breaks.  The biggest one I took was after smoking for more than a year like you described.  The best thing to do is to remove all temptation.  I loaned all my glass to a friend and stopped hanging out with people who smoked for a good 2 weeks before I slowly started hanging out with them again.  Focus on all the things you are to lazy to do when you are high that you have been putting off forever.  Start knocking those things off the list and you'll feel great and will lose that constant desire to smoke.  I'm not saying quit indefinitely but breaks for clarity can be a good thing.

You've obviously never been addicted to oxycodone. 

Either way, quiting marijuana shouldn't be that hard.  If it is, you might be medicating some other underlying problem with marijuana and might want to talk to a psychologist about your problems.

You've obviously never been addicted to oxycodone. 

Either way, quiting marijuana shouldn't be that hard.  If it is, you might be medicating some other underlying problem with marijuana and might want to talk to a psychologist about your problems.

I agree it's just funny that you said it.

personally I don't like getting high that much, I smoke on average once a day but definitely not every day.  Basically some (most) nights I just feel like gettin high  so I go out with some friends and smoke.  But it's not part of my lifestyle really.  I'm kind of a rare breed most people I know either smoke all time time or just once in a while.
