It scares me how obsessed we tend to be with newer, bigger, and more lifelike televisions.

As a people, it's like we're subconsciously BEGGING to be manipulated.

True, but I don't really care about my TV. I got it with my hand money. If someone stole all my consumer crap I wouldn't shed a tear.

The key is the word "subconsciously"...

While you are distracted by the idea that all you're getting out of it is a higher quality image, you can be sure that there are hundreds upon thousands of marketing professionals figuring out how to use the enhancements to further manipulate us subconsciously.

Oh, also, our tendency to overlook the above out of a preference for self-indulgence over well-being is the part that I liken to subconsciously begging to be manipulated.

Hey, I didn't buy it, so whatever :shrug:

It was also only $600, he bought it used off someone who just had a kid and is turning their entertainment room into a play room kinda deal.
