Refilling Prescriptions via Fax

I've got a question.. my family doc is back home, about 150 miles from where I live these days. He just wrote me a script the other day for some pills, doesn't matter what kind, that ended up not being a high enough dosage. At first they were enough but after just a couple days taking the recommended dosage, they aren't lasting long enough for me to only take two a day.

And back to my question.. is there any way for him to fax another prescription to either me or a pharmacy, or do I have to physically go back and see him to get it? He's been my family doctor since I was born, so I am sure if it is legal or a commonly accepted practice, he will. But I'm not sure if that is true and would rather not make a fool out of myself for asking him. :smile:

Anybody know about this? I live in Oregon, in case it is a state issue.
