Hey there. Just wondering what these guys might be. Found them growing by the Pan Subbs in the lawn. I think they might be some type of Coprinus but i could be wronge. I check in a couple books but found nothing. Im quit sure they are not active but i would just like to know what they are. I will take a spore print when I go there next, if needed. Hope you enjoy the pic , thought they looked cool.

stipe widest at base tapering to cap, rusty orange spores. same family as the deadly galerena,

I agree with Mitchnast - Conocybe lactea. Your specimens are larger than what I usually find, but not outside the size range for these. It is notable that the ID is only provisional, since Conocybes cannot be identified accurately to species without a microscope. Not active, very common, not poisonous, not worth trying to eat.
Note that the genus Conocybe includes species which contain the same toxins as the deadly Amanitas (which destroy your liver), so you should not experiment with them.

Sony DSC-P30, 1.3 Mp.
All the settings on those shots were automatic.
I have always liked Sony products for their quality and reliability.

Very nice Conocybes as mr. Mushroom stated.
Conocybe means Cone Head.

ALso wanted to mention to perspective pickers, always avoid picking any mushrooms with cinnamon colored gills. Stick to chocolate to purple-brown and black for the Panaeolus or Copelandia mushrooms
