I feel your pain, brother!

Why does it always have to break
before the resolve! WHY??!?!?!

It's like the mp3 player of the soul's batteries

After changing enough strings you learn out the right way to do it. It takes me about 45 seconds to replace a broken string.  The pain in the ass part is having to stretch the string until it'll stay in tune.

Sometimes one of my fingers kinda gets stabbed by the cut end of a high E and it really hurts.

you mean fucking with it after the break or the actual break slices your finger?  i used to be scared i'd cut myself open when a string broke but after countless times ive never been hurt.

That's kind of funny. My friend plays at a lot of bars and places around DFW. He swears that every time he's about to go on his guitar gets out of tune or something else goes wrong. He's always bitching about it.

Guitars go out of tune all the time unless you have a floyd rose or something.

you can keep playing when you break a string. just play the chords/notes on the remaining strings and/or up or down an octave.

the show must go on!

Man, I havent had a string break on me in ages... I mean seriously ages, couple years (and that was because I let my friend show me his riff...). And I only change strings once a year, if that.
Maybe its my gentle loving touch.

This depends on your guitar. With a lot of guitars all strings go out of tune once one breaks due to the tension change on the bridge.

they all go out of tune if one breaks, though some less than others. if there is a tremelo that floats off the body, then a break will send it way out of tune. but even something without tremelo, like a les paul, will go out of tune somewhat when a string breaks because there is less tension on the neck so it moves back a little bit.

buy higher grade strings and re-string often! Also maybe read up on how to properly string your guitar!
